My Lai Massacre Introduction
My Lai Massacre, or known as Son My Massacre, is a cruel war crime happening and caused by the American army during the Vietnam War. Son My Massacre happened 55 years ago, on 16/3/1968 in Son My Commune, Quang Ngai Province (The center of Vietnam).
American soldiers killed from 347 to 504 Vietnamese civilians who had no weapons and were harmless. Many of them were raped, suffered from violence, and were tortured before being murdered. This event was like a big boom for the global public and lead to the withdrawal of American forces in 1972.
